Our Story

The Black Mammoth was born as “Ascending ruin” where creative minds Mikah and Cody met by accident in western Oklahoma and began writing a movement of sound. That band took on Sean and began to tighten up as they played shows throughout OK with the vocal prestige of Danny. Life happened, people had to find themselves, some had to lose themselves, and as it does, time passed the Ruin had reached its pinnacle. There was a 10 year hiatus until Mikah and Cody came back into contact and another 5 years passed until music became a priority. A mammoth was born. “ascending ruin” with all origInal line up rebranded as “The black mammoth”

Our journey has been a tapestry and rooted all of us in different plots, but we’ve found our ways back to one another and feel a duty to deliver hard hitting music.
